• Memo To Atheists

The atheistic insinuation that minus the world with religion, all fanaticism, human sacrifice, infanticide, genitalia mutilation, oppression of women, etc. would be somehow rid from the human condition, is to engage in the same type of simplistic blame passing so prevalent throughout religious history.

It’s as wholly asinine as believing that all bribery, doublespeak, grandstanding, partisanship, hollow promises, fear mongering, etc. would be somehow rid from the human condition minus the world with politics.

    • Yes, but without the ability to hide behind religion to justify such acts, we may be one step closer to pinning personal responsibility for these atrocities. People will tend not to want to roll doubles three times in a row if they didn’t have a get-out-of-jail-free card in hand. Without a god, suicide bombing is even less rational. :)

        Solid :)

Somehow, though, there’s this part in me that believes the human animal does every atrocity available to him (and every good available to him, too, btw) simply because he can. Because it’s available to him to conceive of it, and then to try it.

To be the first sinner. To be the first saint, if you will. To be remembered. To NOT be insignificant in so vast a cosmos.

Imagine how the first cannibal felt? “Wow. I just did that. Shake & Bake!” Now to eat somebody seems at best cruel, and at worse, blasé, pas`se´, and any other French word you care to throw at it.

I would say that humans are walking gods, if it weren’t so blasphemous to one side, and so ridiculous to the other.

Anyhow, thanks for reading and commenting, because, truthfully, I was shriveling with under-confidence that nobody was even reading my posts.

        Thank you.
