• Marissa

    Marissa from 3rd grade:

Q: What’s it like being an author?

A: Hi Marissa :) Being a professional author is really all I want to be when I grow up someday. I love to write, draw, and compose music for stories of all kinds, and I have ever since I was your age. It really isn’t even work for me. I can spend hours creating stories and totally lose track of time.

  • Megan

    Megan from 3rd grade:

Q: Why did you pick a dragon?

A: Well, Megan, I’ve loved dragons (and fantasy) since I was your age, and I still love them today :) However, I’ve always had a different interpretation of dragons than most people, so Ring Dragonz is not a typical dragon story.

  • Gabriel

    Gabriel from 3rd grade:

Q: Why did you call your book Ring Dragonz?

A: Well, Gabriel, I can’t answer your question fully without spoiling the whole book, but I will tell you that not all dragons hatch from eggs :)

  • Isabel

    Isabel from 3rd grade:

Q: Why did you put “Z” instead of “S” in the Ring Dragonz title?

A: Good question, Isabel :) To be different looking, and to match the “Z” at the end of my pseudonym. Let me also tell you why I chose to publish under the name, Mister Rengerz. When some of my second grade students heard that I had a book coming out they said, “now we’ll finally know you’re real first name!” because I would only tell them, “Mister,” whenever they’d ask, and I really wanted them to believe that was my first name.

  • Vanessa

    Vanessa from 3rd grade:

    Q: Do you like dragons?

A: Love ‘em, Vanessa. But I have to tell you, growing up as a kid, my vision of dragons was always a lot different than anything else I ever read. The closest thing I can remember is J.R.R. Tolkien’s Smaug dragon. I always liked how Smaug seemed more human than beastly.

  • Brandon

    Brandon from 3rd grade:

Q: Why did you want to be an author?

A: Hi Brandon. I never knew I was going to become an author that writes books, because I always dreamed that I’d be a movie director growing up, and even went to college to learn film making. But Ring Dragonz was such a great experience for me that I want to write a million more stories now :)

  • Paola

    Paola from 3rd grade:

Q: Are you going to make another Ring Dragonz?

A: Hi Paola. Yup. It will be called, Ring Goddezz. Look for Henry, Walsh, Peter, Anne Mai, and Bot-Bot, but also a whole new cast of brand new characters, too. I’m so excited :)

ps – congratulations on your new chihuahua puppies (are any of them mean) ???

  • Nolan

    Nolan from 3rd grade:

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: Well, Nolan, Ring Dragonz is definitely up there, because it’s filled with all the exciting things I always dreamed of as a kid. Some other books I really liked growing up were: (1) the fully illustrated edition of the Wind in the Willows, (2) J.R.R. Tolkien’s the Hobbit, and (3) Watership Down. Interestingly, all three of those books were ones that my parents read to me.

  • Unique

    Unique from 3rd grade:

Q: Are you making a new book?

A: What a very pretty and unique name you have, Unique. The answer to you question is yes – several. I have many book projects I’m working on (some I’m very excited about), but lately I spend a lot of time trying to promote Ring Dragonz also.

ps – Ring Goddezz, the sequel to Ring Dragonz, is one of the books I’m developing right now.

  • Stephanie

    Stephanie from 3rd grade:

Q: What is Ring Goddezz about?

A: Well, Stephanie, Ring Goddezz is the next book in the Ring Dragonz series which I’m working on currently. I can’t tell you everything, but I will mention that some very strange things are happening to Anne Mai since the end of Ring Dragonz, and she will be thrust into the hidden world of Ring Dragonz.
